Small practical barriers can feel enormous.
Being ready to attend a family contact session is one thing. Paying for the journey, food during a long day or an overnight stay is another. Family at THE CODE is the community-support project presented on its website as AT THE CODE Family Support. Its purpose is to help with approved practical costs around family contact and children’s-services involvement. [1]
The project describes support for travel, food and appropriate restricted vouchers, approved accommodation, safe handovers, a suitable family activity and paid facilitator costs. Support depends on checks, available funds and the relevant court, local-authority and safeguarding arrangements. It is not a guarantee of funding or a way around those arrangements. [1]
What does a contribution pay towards?
The stated approach is to buy or book approved support directly wherever possible: a ticket, a hotel, an agreed service or a restricted voucher. Families do not automatically receive cash. Facilitator work can be paid; the magazine does not claim that every pound becomes a cash payment to a family. [1]
Two funds. A clear choice.
The existing donation page offers two different purposes. Read the details before choosing; a contribution to one is not presented as a contribution to the other. [2]
Family Support Fund
For approved travel, food or vouchers, accommodation, safe handovers, activities and facilitator costs. The project says unused money remains in the support pot. [2]
Read details & choose this fund ↗Future Family House
A fund towards purchasing and developing a permanent space for family connection. This is a future project, not a claim that a contact centre is already open. [3]
Important disclosure: the published plan says the property may include a separate private residential area for the founder’s family. Read that disclosure before contributing to the property fund. [3]

The donation page lets supporters choose an amount and links to Stripe’s hosted checkout. This magazine feature sends you to that page first, so you can review the purpose and disclosures before paying. It does not collect card details or create a payment on your behalf. [2]
The project is operated by a UK sole trader and is not a registered charity. This feature does not offer Gift Aid, claim a tax deduction, publish an unverified amount raised or promise a particular outcome for a family. [2]
Only contribute an amount you are comfortable giving. Reading about the project, sharing its public page or choosing not to donate are all valid choices. Nobody needs to prove their generosity, and buying a book is not part of this donation route.
Support should not cost a family its privacy.
The project describes a checked, anonymised approach to family appeals, leaving out children’s identities, addresses, schools and case details. An example appeal is not evidence that a real family has received support. This magazine introduction uses the site’s illustration, not private records, client photographs or personal stories offered as fundraising material. [1]
Family Support and Family Advocacy are different routes.
Family at THE CODE / Family Support is the community funding route featured here. Family Advocacy is the separate service-and-referral app described elsewhere in The Signal. A contribution is not an advocacy booking, a solicitor’s fee or a guarantee that a professional will accept a case.

Source & transparency note
The Signal and Family Support are both AT THE CODE projects. This is an introduction to the founder’s own community-support project, not an independent endorsement or an audit of how donations have been spent.
